Our Town

Our Town

Estepa is a town in the south-western part of the province of Seville. It is located 604 metres above sea level and has an area of 202,42 km2. It is very well connected to other important Spanish cities. The A-92 highway connects our town to important Andalusian cities like Seville, Malaga, Granada, or Almeria. For a longer ride to Madrid or Barcelona, as well as to other major cities, the train station Puente Genil-Herrera is only a couple of kilometres away from Estepa.

Regarding the most important industries, the production of extra-virgin olive oil and the traditional Spanish Christmas cakes and cookies, specially our famous mantecados, is key for Estepa’s economic activity. The products from both industries have obtained Quality Certifications: Estepa's extra-virgin olive oil is included in the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) list and both our “Mantecados de Estepa” and our “Polvorones de Estepa” are registered in the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) scheme. In addition, the Spanish Ministry of Culture added Estepa to its list of national historical sites in 1965 due to its great artistic and architectural value.
